Neighborhood Milongas

Neighborhood, or “barrio” milongas are the most imformal milongas, and you’ll usually find a lot less tourists at them. These milongas are great for experiencing more of the local Argentinian culture, and for feeling a deeper sense of community within Tango.

If you don’t speak Spanish don’t let that stop you from experiencing a neighborhood milonga if you feel to. Locals at these milongas are welcoming and supportive of visitors from abroad.

Cochabamba (San Telmo)
  • Thursday evening
  • “A la gorra” (donation milonga – choose what to pay)
  • Class for beginners/intermediates before the milonga
La Bullanguera (La Boca)
  • Friday evening (with a break during winter months)
  • If you’re worried about safety in La Boca, they have security at the door
  • Very beginner friendly
  • More alternative and relaxed vibe
  • Almost always has live music
