TangoVida Artists Fund

The TangoVida Artists Fund provides grants to preserve and advance Argentine Tango while making it more accessible to all. We support the entire Tango ecosystem – dancers, musicians, teachers, DJs, organizers, venue owners, and artisans who bring this art form to life.

With Argentina facing ongoing severe economic challenges, our support helps ensure Tango continues to thrive in its birthplace of Buenos Aires, helping sustain the artists who dedicate their lives to this precious art.

How we’ve helped so far:

  • December 28, 2024: Made live Tango music accessible to all by sponsoring the La Santa Calavera orchestra’s performance at El Zorzal Centro Cultural. Our direct support for the orchestra’s 9 musicians enabled the organizers to offer this milonga inclusively as “a la gorra” (which means donation based pay-what-you-can) with live music to the entire community. The event drew about 200 attendees who listened and danced to live music at the milonga, regardless of their financial means.
  • December 8, 2024: Funded five orchestras for the Barrio Extravaganza milonga at El Zorzal Centro Cultural, providing direct support to 42 musicians and creating an extraordinary evening of live Tango music and dancing for more than 250 people. These five orchestras were supported: La Mucho Tango, La Santa Calavera, San Osvaldo, and Siempre Tango.
  • April 26, 2024: Brought Tango to life for 300+ people at Atroden Club by funding 50 musicians in six orchestras for the Milonga Extravaganza, creating opportunities for both musicians and creating an event for dancers to experience the richness of live Tango music. These six orchestras were supported: Gime Ximenez y Sus Infernales, La Juan D’Arienzo, La Mucho Orchestra, Los Herederos del Compás, and Romantica Milonguera.
